Here's an itinerary that doesn't require much driving, but allows you to sample the rural lifestyle of the Cowichan Valley and a Gulf Island along with the highlight cities of Vancouver and Victoria.

Day 1: Board a BC Ferry in Horseshoe Bay, west of downtown Vancouver, for the 40-minute cruise through spectacular marine and mountain scenery, to Langdale and the Sunshine Coast.
