The lake stocking information for the Southwestern BC Road & Recreational Atlas has been provided by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C.

The majority of lakes identified are on a regular stocking program which ensures a sustainable fish population exists for the enjoyment of recreational anglers. Recent surveys show that about one half of the angler effort in freshwater takes place on stocked lakes.

The Freshwater Fisheries Society operates 5 hatcheries that raise more than 9 million fish of seven species for release annually into over 1000 lakes and streams. The Society also delivers conservation fish culture services that support sturgeon and steelhead recovery programs.

The stocked lakes are indicated by a blue symbol as shown below.
